The Koh-e-Safaid Ranges have an east-west trend and rise to an average height of 3,600m. Sikeram, the highest peak in Koh-e-Safaid Ranges rises to 4,760 m. Similarly, the elevation of Waziristan Hills ranges from 1,500 and 3,000 m. these mountains works as shelter for terrorist and miscreant activities like suicide bomber and ransom kidnapping is originated from this area. Suicide bombers were trained from Uzbekistan, Chechens and Arabic countries to root ferocity and terrorism in Pakistan. Pakistan army decided to clear area from militants and started a peace operation with the support of local. Operation was conducted successfully and army has cleared majority of area from militants and create check posts to ensure peace for long period of time. This operation has closed Taliban link with other part of country and they are trapped on Pak Afghan border. People of khurram agency are very happy with this operation because now they have no threat form militants. Pakistan army is conducting a relieve operation as well and reopens basic facility units like schools, basic health units, offices and other govt institutions which were closed due to threat of militants. After the completion of successful military operation now Pakistan is looking for peace talk with the local tribes to give them chance to empower the civil government in affected areas. Now local tribes are coming in political environment of area and peace talks are continue will local militants for surrender. People of FATA are very much satisfied with the efforts of Pakistan army and they are thankful to Pakistan army for their countless efforts to bring peace in the region.
